Age-defying Hair

Owen Jones | May 5, 2011

All women and a increasing number of men want shiny hair. This is because shiny hair is perceived as belonging to a healthy, vibrant person. The fact is that as we get older, men’s hair falls out and women’s hair becomes more brittle. So how can you have age-defying hair?

There are a couple of tricks of the trade, some of which are fairly obvious when you give them a bit of thought. The first and most vital tip is not to over wash your hair. Your head produces oil to protect your hair and it does that because it thinks that hair is crucial to help it regulate the temperature of the brain.

OK, these days we can put a hat on or erect a parasol, but it takes the body a long time to change. The point is to not wash all the oil from your hair too often. You want to wash the dirt off your hair but not all the oil.

Consequently, rub the shampoo into your scalp and not into your hair. As the shampoo runs off your hair it will take the dirt off your hair with it but only some of the oil. This makes a big difference.

The tip above is the most important piece of advice because it applies to whichever shampoo you purchase, but the next tip applies to what shampoo to buy. Do not skimp on shampoo if you want lovely-looking hair.

Do you remember the days when you had to wash your hair, rinse it and then apply conditioner and then rinse again? Well those actually were the good old days as far as hair is concerned. These all-in-ones work on the principle that the conditioner will not work in the presence of oil and the shampoo will not activate if there is no oil.

This means that on the first wash, half the shampoo is wasted, but the shampoo has to scour your hair for the second wash (conditioner) to work. On the second wash the conditioner does its job, but the shampoo half goes down the drain having done nothing.

In other words, your cheap bottle of shampoo with conditioner costs two times as much as you paid for it, so why not buy separate shampoo and conditioner in the first place?

The combined shampoo and conditioner is a rip off because it makes you think that you are saving time and thereby getting something for nothing. You are not.

The best tips you can hear for your hair is to purchase a mild shampoo without conditioner. By all means buy one that says that it is better suited to your sort of hair if you want. Then do some research on your hair sort and natural colour on the Internet and make your own conditioner or buy one.

Individuals used to use vinegar, beer, dandelions and all kinds of items and one that I have recently come across is Butterfly Pea. Do not become guiled by adverts and time saving if you really like your hair

How Office Stress Builds Up

Owen Jones | May 3, 2011

Office stress is a very common occurrence. Office stress comes about because of the pressures of the work, which is frequently not so easy to define, particularly in a small firm. In a big office, jobs are fairly clearly defined and everyone knows what they are responsible for.

In a small office though, the couple of members of staff often have to cover half-a-dozen or so different jobs and so office stress can build up. Office stress can build up quickly if the boss is unsympathetic or a member of a small office team goes off pregnant or sick whether a temporary replacement is employed or not.

Office stress is a very real phenomenon especially in a small business. For example, it is not uncommon for a company with $1 annual turnover to be managed by a staff of two – the office manager and a secretary. This means that the office manager has to be able to do each job and it is hoped that the secretary will be able to do most of them too. This creates office stress.

The secretary-cum-assistant will need to understand filing, typing, word-processing, data entry for book-keeping software, how to read job sheets, time sheets and invoices. The secretary will also have to welcome visitors, but keep sales people at bay, while remaining polite.

The secretary will also need to have decent phone manners and be able to answer enough questions to be able to shield the manager from time wasters and deal with relevant questions if the manager is not in. These jobs are difficult enough on their own, but office stress builds up if you find yourself trying to do three jobs at once and that is not uncommon.

You could be entering time sheet data while the manager has gone to visit site, when the phone rings with an enquiry and a potential client comes in asking for a quote. This is enough to create office stress soar.

The manager will also have to be able to carry out these tasks, but the office supervisor will also be responsible for management accounts, pay, job costing, pricing, writing letters and keeping up with the law as the Company Secretary, which means that he/she will need to know enough about employment law to advise the directors.

This leads to tremendous office stress. Besides all this, the office manager is usually responsible for paying and collecting taxes and keeping up with regulations and employment law. In these days of litigation and government claw backs, mistakes in any legal field are punished with costly fines or compensation claims. This degree of responsibility also just raises the level of office stress.

The difficulty is that office stress, like most types of stress, leads to tension and irritability and irritability can lead to a short fuse and flashes of temper, which just goes to worsen the situation and raise the degree of office stress another peg.

The degrees of office stress soar if an important article of office equipment breaks down, because it is always just when you need it. Because it can take hours or even days to have it repaired, you are expected to be able to carry out small repairs yourself. And then if the boss is an unsympathetic or just unlikeable person then the degree of office stress can become even worse.

A Brief History Of Judaism

Owen Jones | April 26, 2011

It has been worked out that around 80% of the world’s population believe in one religion or another (and there are lots of them), but about 70% of those are adherents to the big four. The four biggest religions are: Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. Judaism is the forerunner of both Islam and Christianity.

The Hebrew Bible recounts the history of the world and the story of the journey of the people from creation, all through the flood to the arrival in the Promised Land, or from Mesopotamia to Canaan, led by Abraham.

The offspring of Abraham and his people were enslaved by the Egyptians and did not manage to escape until Moses led them out of captivity. During this journey, Moses was given the Ten Commandments from God and they went on to be the bedrock of Jewish law and custom although there is no doubt that the Jewish mode of life has evolved from this period in the Tenth Century before Christ.

The sacred writings of the Hebrew Bible or Masorah are separated into twenty-four books. However, the same writings are divided up into thirty-nine books in the Christian Bible’s Old Testament. The Torah or The Law was being composed at this time but it was amended and updated between the Tenth and Fifth Centuries before Christ.

In addition to the Hebrew scriptures, there is a rich tradition of ancient oral commentary known as the Talmud, which is a colossal compilation of the Oral Law. The Talmud is the traditional authority for Orthodox Jews.

Judaism is the most ancient monotheistic religion known to the West. Jews believed in one God whilst all of the known world believed in pantheism or many gods like the Ancient Greeks. The name of God in the Jewish language is Yahweh and they believe that Yahweh agreed a covenant with His people to take care of them for ever as long as they were devoted exclusively to him.

In the Jewish faith, sin is the unashamed disrespect of God’s will and that is punishable by God in a similar fashion to the Buddhist belief in karma.. The objective of following God’s Law is being welcomed into His Kingdom.

Jews worship in synagogues in congregations led by Rabbis who are considered Teachers or Masters (as in the old manner of calling teachers, ‘masters’) rather than as monks or vicars. The Jewish Sabbath is not the Sunday as in Christianity, but is observed from sunset Friday until sunset Saturday night.

The most important holidays or holy days in the Jewish calendar are: Rosh Hashanah (New Year); Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement); Hanukah (Festival of Lights) and Pesach (Passover). The Jewish people does not celebrate Christmas because they believe that the Son of God is still yet to be born. They see Jesus as a prophet in the same manner as the Muslims do.

There are three predominant branches of modern Judaism which are: Orthodox Judaism; Reform Judaism and Conservative Judaism. Some of these branches of Judaism are more prevalent in some countries than others.

Romantic Songs For A Romantic Date

Owen Jones | April 10, 2011

A song can tell you a lot about life, the person who wrote it, the person who sings it and the person who likes to listen to it.. Songs come in different genres. Have you ever come across a genre that is enduring? If you did would it be about love or hatred? Naturally, everybody would declare that ‘love’ is the most discussed, written and sung about by people of all races and nationalities. So, it is no surprise then to find out what makes a date worth cherishing?

Music almost always has something to do with it and music could actually fashion the mood of your date. Dating is such a great way of selecting your future lifetime spouse. When you are out on a date, see to it that the music is well-selected and that it creates a mood of romance.

People have written all styles of songs, but the ones they write the best are love songs. Since the day the first love song was sung, people’s hearts have been melting. Songs of finding a new love, losing love, songs of inspiration, songs of moving on, songs about romance, first loves and the gush of emotions.

With all due respect to all the artists concerned and their fans too, here are some of the most popular songs of Romance. They demonstrate the feelings of two people in love during a very romantic date:

Truly, Madly, Deeply: (Savage Garden) – this duo’s song speaks of a deep love and promises made to the other person.

I’d be your dream I’d be your wish I’d be your fantasy I’d be your hope, be your love Be everything that you need

This I Promise You: (N-Sync) – this group filled the airwaves with love. This song is really a pledge of a lifetime’s dedication. It is often used as a wedding song.

And I will take you in my arms And hold you right where you belong Until the day my life is through This I promise you

Iris: (Goo Goo Dolls) – it achieved popularity not just because of the film in which it featured, but because the song touches the heart.

And I don’t want the world to see me ‘Cause I don’t think that they’d understand When everything’s made to be broken- I just want you to know who I am

Dreaming of You: (Selina) – the singer died tragically, but the song lives on. It is a light song, but it goes straight to the heart.

I’m dreaming of you tonight ‘Til tomorrow And for all of my life And there’s nowhere in the world I’d rather be.

Songs will always be a big part of courtship and that usually starts with a date. Music is the food of love and music is one of the greatest inventions of mankind. Generations always have, and generations always will, continue to keep the tradition going. Music not only induces love and romance, but it also keeps love and romance alive.
