Pampering Yourself By Going To The Spa

Ace Winget | August 27, 2010

Some days I sometimes feel that I need a day to just pamper myself. You know what I’m talking about, ladies? Going to a day spa can be just what the doctor ordered. Here are my favorite spa treatments, in no particular order.

The Massage – Massages are wonderful. They are found in almost every spa, and price is usually determined on the type of massage and the time spent. Massages work to loosen up tense muscles and can be quite relaxing.

Massages don’t come in one typical style, however. They can be used for relaxing, or for medical purposes. Massages are good for the body because when they are done correctly the body can get detoxified, and rejuvenated at the same time.

The Facial – Facials are a very popular treatment. Steam, peels, masks and moisturizers are used to give your face a healthy pick-me-up. There are a lot of specialized facials that you can have done to you, such as acne treatments.

The Body Wrap – The body wrap works great with detoxifying your body. You simply wrap your body in a natural substance to detoxify your body. These natural substances vary from spa to spa, but seaweed is always a popular choice.

Aromatherapy – Aromatherapy is becoming more and more popular in spas. It is an effective treatment with soothing and aiding the body. It can be used as part of the massage, or essential oils can be added to damp towels and wrapped around the body.

Microdermabrasion – This treatment involves removing the top layer of skin. The top layer of your skin is dead skin. This is an easy way to remove the dead skin from your skin, and revealing a much healthier, vibrant skin layer underneath.

These treatments are all fabulous, but they can quickly add up. If you need spa-treatment, try incorporating things you already have at home – such as homemade soap. Soap making is a creative way to make sure you have gentle soap on your skin. Soap making allows you to find natural ways to exfoliate your skin and keep it healthy. Soap making also makes it possible for you to know exactly what ingredients are in your soap, so you know they are all natural and safe for you.

Cacao Seed Oil And Its Uses

Ace Winget | August 23, 2010

Cacao seed essential oil has a rich history that makes it intriguing as well. It is thought to be an original plant from before Mayan times. The people were known as Olmecs, and they used cacao in a lot of different ways.

They also studied its medical properties. They found that there was a lot of value with the cacao seed essential oil. They were considered very special.

The Mayan people thought that the cacao plant held special spiritual properties. Mayans believe that the sky spirit created humans out of all natural materials, such as earth and water. They felt that cacao was an ingredient that their Mayan deity used to create humans. Today cacao is a very special plant and oil in many areas around the world.

Cacao seed oil has a lot of wonderful things to brag about. First, it has a very delightful smell. It is sensual, heady, and yummy for the senses.

Cacao is used to heal. Research has shown that using cacao with aromatherapy has lowered levels of anxiety and stress. It can also help improve moods.

You can easily create your own recipe by adding favorite essential oils to your body oil. Cacao seed essential oil mixes well with other types of oils. It works well in a blend with vanilla, peppermint or rose. It also can work in a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, wild orange, or tangerine.

Cacao in its pure form can be added to these mixes, but only in the tiniest of amounts. Pure cacao has a very strong aroma that smells similar to dark chocolate. It can work as a natural body perfume.

Cacao seed oil works great in aromatherapy. Be sure to only use the highest quality oil. The better quality the oil is, the better your results will be.

How To Make Skin Radiant

Ace Winget |

Do you ever get tired of your dry, lifeless skin? Here are some tips for more beautiful, moisturized, healthy-looking skin. The amazing thing is it does not have to take a lot of effort on your part.

The best way to have healthy skin is to keep it clean. Not washing it regularly can lead to body acne. Skin also needs to be moisturized so it won’t dry out with the soap. Soap making is one way people can do this. Soap making allows you to decide what goes in to your soap. If your soap has moisturizing ingredients, then your soap will be gentler on your skin.

One way to have radiant skin is to start with a relaxing bath. Bathing, or soaking in water, can make your skin more elastic and hydrated. Soaking in warm water can also ease tension and stress and relax body muscles.

You can add some soap bath or bath salt to make things more relaxing. When you are doing soap making you don’t have to stick with making bars of soap. You can also make many other types of bath products, like body scrub.

To make your own body scrub you just need to choose a good bath salt. A good option is sea salt. You then can make your own body scrub using your chosen bath salt.

If you made your own soap you can just use that one. Soap making has many advantages, one of them being that it can give you the peace of mind knowing that the soap you use is not harming your body in any way. The best soaps are made out of natural, organic ingredients.

When you combine the bath salt with body soap you can create your own makeshift body scrub. You should use liquid bath soap with it in order to have the salt and soap mix well with each other. Gentle essential oils, like lavender or rose, can do great in body scrubs.

Use circular motions when applying the homemade body scrub to your skin. Be gentle when doing it so you don’t hurt your skin. Pay special attention to the hard areas of skin, like your elbows, knees and bottom of feet. When you are done exfoliated you can rinse it off easily with some warm water. When you are done, apply some good moisturizing body lotion and you will be amazed at how amazing your skin will look.

Calming Anxiety-Ridden Pets The Natural Way

Ace Winget | August 20, 2010

Pets are very similar to humans. They can suffer from stress and anxiety just like we do. When something traumatizing happens in their life they can be affected by it just like we can.

Pets that are suffering from anxiety can get help. Using essential oils can allow your pets a chance to heal. Natural medicines offer less negative side effects than traditional medicine.

The two main essential oils we will discuss in this article are lavender and roman chamomile. Both have great properties that help animals that have fears, hyperactivity, and depression. They help with stress, trauma, or any other feelings of anxiety.

Talk to your vet before you apply or administer any essential oils to your pets. Pets are more sensitive to the oil than humans are, so the less you have to use the better. Dilute the essential oil so it is not so pure by using a carrier oil. Here are a few examples.

If you have a dog, calm him with 1 drop of lavender and 1 drop of Roman Chamomile that has been mixed with a carrier oil. This mixture should be safe to comb through their fur or directly applied. Rub the mixture on the dog’s pads of his feet and on his ears.

You can calm your horse with the same recipe. Mix 1 drop of lavender oil, 1 drop of roman chamomile oil, and then 1 drop of carrier oil together. Apply to the horse’s muzzle, cornet bands, or ears.

Be wary of essential oils and cats, however. Cats lack an enzyme that allows their liver to digest phenols. It is very important to not use oils that contain phenols, such as oregano and thyme.

Roman Chamomile and lavender are completely phenol free and are very safe to use on cats. Unlike the other mixture, however, when working with a cat you should use 10 drops of carrier oil instead of just 1. They are much more sensitive, and need it a lot more diluted than most animals.
